Developing
great software require just one thing: JAVA

Why JavaDeveloper.cc?
I decided to share my knowledge with other Java users
and Java "fans" and have a reference with this
website.
I want to support the open software!
This site is under construction. I have ready some sections
but they aren't posted yet because I am looking for a right
hosting service... unfortunately right now I am using a free
hosting service.
I'll be working on several topics and publishing
each area at its time.

about me
Why
the Java programming language?
I was in high school when Java showed its force to the
world. I remember when people and magazines started talking
and writting about the great features and specs of the
languaje (that was 1995). However, at that time I wasn't a software Engineer
yet (but yes... I was a computer fan) and I didn't involved on it. Later, I began my career as
web designer and HTML programmer. My background is based on
Microsoft's products, but I discovered a real better
technology named JAVA. I was really curious as a software programmer
and I did want to learn more. By year 2000 I found a great
book, "Thinking in Java" (1st edition), from Bruce
Eckel. That book -and my
dedication, taugth me the underpittings of the Java language.
I switched to Java. Nowadays, although I am not and expert I
find programming and developing with Java very rewarding.
"Touching" the code is really what I like.
If you wonder why Java is a winner, it's simple: Get started
quickly, Write less code, Write better code, Develop programs
more quickly, Avoid platform dependencies with 100% Pure Java,
Write once, run anywhere, Distribute software more easily and
more (learned from The JavaTM
Tutorial).
A little about me...
I grew up and live in San Jose -
Costa Rica. I received a BSc. in Computer Systems Engineering
in 2001, and currently I am taking a MSc. in Computer
Science at the University of Costa
Rica. In my free time I enjoy collecting coins, see more
about numismatics at www.numismatica.org.
For living I develop software that lives in the world wide
web.

Java SDK
Currently, Sun's latest Java Developer's Kit Standard
Edition (JSDK) is version 1.4.1. You can check at java.sun.com
and get it for free. I think -and almost everybody, that this
is the best site for java developers, no matter your level or
experience. Try NetBeans
too.
Also, I recommend you to get Sun Studio 4.0 (FORTE for
Java) Community Edition. This is the fastest way to produce
code and compile it. If you have more experience, you must buy
Oracle JDeveloper 9i release
3. Ah! I forgot...
Oracle's technologies are also my favorite tools if you
really want RAD tools.
